Samco Mutual Fund Introduces Samco Large Cap Fund

Samco Mutual Fund has launched its new fund offer (NFO): Samco Large Cap Fund. It is an open-ended fund investing predominantly in equity and equity-related instruments of large-cap companies.

The fund house is of the view the large-cap index is relatively undervalued compared to the mid cap and small cap counterparts, offering attractive investment proposition. Large-cap stocks also typically exhibit less volatility compared to mid-cap and small-cap stocks, making then more resilient during market downturns.

Samco Large Cap Fund will follow a momentum-based investment strategy to harness the power of market trends and and corporate performance metrics. The fund employs Samco's proprietary C.A.R.E. momentum system to pick stocks for the portfolio. The C.A.R.E. system integrates four key dimensions of momentum-Cross Sectional Momentum, Absolute Momentum, Revenue Momentum, and Earnings Momentum.

Samco Large Cap Fund is benchmarked against the Nifty 100 - TRI index. Nifty 100 represents top 100 companies based on full market capitalisation from Nifty 500. This index intends to measure the performance of large market capitalisation companies. The Nifty 100 tracks the behaviour of combined portfolio of two indices viz. Nifty 50 and Nifty Next 50.

Under normal circumstances, Samco Large Cap Fund will hold an allocation of 80% to 100% in equity & equity-related instruments of large-cap companies, up to 20% in Equity and equity related instruments of companies of other than large-cap companies, up to 20% in Debt Securities and Money Market Instruments, and up to 10% in units issued by REITs & InvITs.

Samco Large Cap Fund will be managed by Mrs Nirali Bhansali and Mr Umeshkumar Mehta.

Mr Umeshkumar Mehta is the Director, CIO & Fund Manger at Samco Asset Management. He has over 25 years of experience in Indian capital markets. His qualification include B.Com, CA, and MBA.

Ms Nirali Bhansali is the Co-Fund Manager at Samco Asset Management. She has over 10 years of work experience with more than 7 years spanning capital markets and investment research. Her qualifications include BE and MBA.

Samco Large Cap Fund is open for subscription from March 05, 2025 to March 19, 2025. The fund will reopen for continuous sale and repurchase not later than March 31, 2025.

The fund offers Direct Plan and Regular Plan. Under each plan the fund offers Growth but no Income Distribution cum Capital Withdrawal (IDCW) options.

The minimum subscription amount is Rs 5,000 and any amount thereafter.
